Controversies
Back in January 2017, she turned herself in to the Crime Branch (CB) because they accused her of using fake papers to register her S-class Mercedes Benz, which was worth INR 1.12 crore, in August 2017.
She should have paid INR 20 lakh in taxes, but she claimed the car belonged to a relative to avoid the high tax on expensive cars in Kerala.
She was charged with cheating, forgery, and using fake documents as real ones under sections 420, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code. These are serious charges and could mean up to seven years in prison.
Then in November 2020, she went to the Chennai High Court to take action against her ex-boyfriend, Bhavninder Singh. Amala claimed that Bhavninder had shared some pictures of them on social media, saying they were wedding pictures.
She insisted these were professional photos, not from a wedding, and asked the court to stop him from posting them. She also filed a defamation case against Bhavninder.[2]
Again in August 2022, against her rumored boyfriend and business partner, Bhavinder Singh, she filed a case for cheating and harassment. She said Bhavinder had faked documents and taken money from her.
