He also played for the Yale Hockey Academy and scored his first goal in the WHL. He scored more in the CSSHL playoff games. He then joined the Hurricanes for a rookie season in 2017-18. During his first full season of junior ice hockey, he scored 22 goals and 53 points in 57 games.
